Energy Technology Consulting
We are experts in bringing together in-depth cross sectoral knowledge to manage some of the key challenges and issues associated with energy transition. Advancing solutions in the latest technologies, we continue to assist our clients in achieving their sustainability objectives.
Energy Strategy
An energy strategy can play a pivotal role in shaping an organisation's sustainability, security and economic stability. By developing an energy strategy, an organisation is better positioned to adapt to changing energy dynamics and policies to gain a competitive advantage in a global marketplace.
Our team has drafted energy strategies for London City Airport and High Speed 1. These have played a pivotal role in assisting organisations achieve economic benefits to energy security and resilience requirements.
Private Network Management
For the past 30 years we have owned, operated and maintained the critical infrastructure for Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Airports allowing them to run smoothly 24/7, 365 days a year. With a network of more than 500 substations and 600 electrical transformers, we continue to assist in identifying opportunities to better utilise this existing infrastructure to serve demand and reduce carbon emissions.
We also partnered with UPS in an Innovate UK supported project, to develop a smart grid solution in UPS’ Camden site capable of providing Demand Side Response services. Through this system the EV fleet plays the role of the flexible load and provides grid flexibility services, from which the client can earn revenue or supplying spare power to a public EV charging hub.
Decarbonising Transport
We are uniquely placed to support the development of your electric vehicle strategy to assist in the transition from fossil-based technology towards the electrification of your entire fleet. We are solutions focused which means we optimise your existing assets to enable them to be integrated into the electric vehicle infrastructure seamlessly while delivering commercial benefits.
From initial feasibility studies to design and build to smart operation and maintenance, our team has been involved in developing electric vehicle strategies for Gatwick Airport, Southern Water, Aspire Defence and Islington Waste Depot.
Renewables, Hydrogen & Storage
Renewable energy sources are significantly important to large energy industries such as airports, rail, local authorities and industrial sectors. We help our clients to plan and implement installations to manage energy costs to aid them in achieving long-term energy price stability and security.
Our team completed a solar photovoltaic (PV) feasibility study across 5 hospitals in the Greater London area for the NHS. For Bristol Airport, we produced a number of heat maps under different steady state and N-1 scenarios with a visualisation that clearly demonstrated which parts of their network needed upgrading and where renewable energy assets could be connected.
Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) appointed our team to carry out an assessment of funding and delivery options of an Electric Vehicle (EV) and Hydrogen Hub on a site adjacent to Sutton Lane near M4 Junction 5.
Innovation
We pursue innovative solutions to energy challenges that deliver the best outcome. These solutions are developed collaboratively with our clients, industry partners, suppliers and the UK Government.
We worked with UPS, High Speed 1 and WMG to assess the feasibility of using wireless charging to support the use of electric vehicles in commercial fleets on London’s roads. Funded by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles in partnership with Innovate UK, the project investigated the feasibility of deploying wireless charging technology in three live locations across London and Tamworth to understand the impact on infrastructure and the commercial viability of wireless charging.
We also worked with on the feasibility of developing ground infrastructure for electric planes with Ampaire to propel the aviation industry to an all-electric future.

Port of London Authority has committed to halving their carbon emissions within five years, aiming for a 60% reduction by 2025 to achieve Net Zero by 2040.
Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) appointed UK Power Network Services to produce a report outlining the options for the LEP to support the delivery of the proposed electric vehicle and hydrogen hub.
Ampaire is a technology company that is developing and flying, hybrid-electric aircrafts to propel the aviation industry to a decarbonised future.
